Nayeli Galindo is an urbanist working across scales at the intersection of architecture, urbanism, tech and visual studies. She is founder of NUPA Studio in Amsterdam and is currently leading projects for the top-tier platform for indoor spatial data management.
She graduated from the Architectural Association’s MArch course in London, where she specialized in Housing & Urbanism. Prior to that, she awarded a Diploma (BA) in Architecture from the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City in 2010.
She has a particular interest in urban renewal and housing, therefore historical context and legacy are fundamental in her approach. Her thesis investigated new digital production models and their possible combination with living and working environments. This project was awarded an exhibition space at the Triennale di Milano XXII. In addition, she was invited to present her MArch thesis under the “Housing London Lecture Series 2015” to address and propose solutions for London’s Housing crisis.
Throughout her career, she has been an active participant in independent projects, urban seminars, exhibitions and design workshops in countries such as Mexico, Brazil, Canada, Germany and the Netherlands.
In London, she worked at Studio Woodroffe Papa ( S333 Architecture + Urbanism). In Mexico, she worked for the government designing frameworks for public realm interventions, at the city and municipal level. Additionally, she held a position at Meir Lobatón Corona’s firm and at Canovera Taller de Arquitectura working on a variety of urban interventions and large housing projects, while maintaining a photography practice on the side.
